Railways Style aloo sabzi – How to make Indian railways style aloo sabzi

Indian railways is the backbone of India. We all have so many memories attached to travelling in train and one lovely memory is the excitement to have the food at different stations. From Kulhad Wali chai to Pakore and the most famous Poori Aloo. Inspired from our railways below is the quick recipe of Aloo sabzi made without onion, ginger and garlic. Try this recipe and go back to your lovely memories.

Ingredients for Railway style aloo Sabzi
4 boiled potatoes
1/2 kg finely chopped tomatoes
1.5 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1.5 tsp kashmiri red chilly powder
1 tsp red chilly powder
green chilly
Cumin seeds
Salt as per taste

Method to make railway style aloo Sabzi
1- Heat oil in a pan.
2- Add cumin seeds and green chillies
3- Add all the spices, mix it once and add half cup water. Please dont burn the spices as that would completely change the color of the gravy.
4- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until mushy.Add Salt after adding the tomatoes
5- Add potatoes and cook in the gravy on a high flame for 1 minute. Keep stirring.
6- Add water as required and cover with a lid.
7- Cook for 15 mins on a low flame.
8- Garnish with green chillies and corinader leaves.
9- Serve it hot with Poori.
