It is the most basic version of upma and is a common breakfast dish in South Indian homes.

1.5 cups Roasted rava
Finely chopped onions
Salt as per taste
1- Heat a pan and add two tsp ghee
2- Raost the cashwes nicely and take it out on a seperate plate
3- In the same pan add mustard seeds, chana dal , urad dal acqnd curry leaves. Let it crackle well for 30 seconds
4- Add finely chopped onion and cook until soft.
5- Add salt as per taste and add the beans and carrots. Cook the veggies nicely.
6- Add 450 ml water. Cover with a lid and bring to a boil.
7- Ade rava in the boiling water in batches and keep stirring to avoid lumps.
8 – Keep stirring until the rava absorbs the water completely. Careful it might bubble and splatter around you.
9- Then, lower the flame, cover and cook until the rava becomes soft for about 4 to 5 minutes. Turn off the flame and keep it covered for another couple of minutes.
10- Garnish it with coriander leaves and cashews.
